Feathers for Native Americans 2nd QUARTER, 2018 UPDATE

During the past quarter (April - June) we sent feathers out to the following Hopi Villages in Arizona; Moencopi, Hano, Hotevilla, Shungopavi and Kykotsmovi. Also sent feathers to the following New Mexico Pueblos; Cochiti, Acoma, Jemez, Santo Domingo, San Felipe and Zuni. All the recipients of these feathers sincerely thank you (kwakwha, dawaa’e and elahkwa) for your help in providing them.

BIG NEWS, My wife and I hand delivered about half (46) of your gifts in April and May. We were out in Arizona and New Mexico for six (6) weeks and visited twenty-one (21) of the thirty-one (1) pueblos and met so many new friends. I’ve been looking at setting up a “Feather Distribution Program” in each pueblo to better serve them with feathers. The interest was great but a lot of work will have to be done before we can roll this out. The main issue is to INCREASE our intake of molted feathers. We always have more request for feathers than feathers on hand and a waiting list as long as 6-8 months. More on this as time goes forward. More on this step forward.

These feathers that you take the time to gather and donate make a world of difference in the lives of so many of our Native American friends and families. I personally thank each and every one of you for your donations that also help to save Wild Macaws and Parrots, “One feather at a time”… Thanks again for your help and don’t forget to check those feathers!
